the pros and cons
Queasy, Easy
It’s good to be home and see the things that are so familiar. The same streets I walk the dogs and go for runs on are still dotted with the same; trees, sprouting corn fields, cow farms, and discarded marlboro boxes. There’s still the familiar sound of crickets and the rush of metal passing through air from the nearby two lane highway. Petoskey is still Petoskey in a re-assuring way. If only that goddamn lighthouse hadn’t been replaced. It makes me sick to know it’s not the same one in all the memories of late summer swims, early morning sunrises, and hot afternoons.
